Details
The image displays a framed piece featuring the opening chapters of the Tao Te Ching, a fundamental text of Taoism attributed to Laozi. The Tao Te Ching is a foundational text for both philosophical Taoism and Chinese Buddhism, and it has significantly influenced Chinese culture and thought. The work is a short text of around 5,000 Chinese characters, divided into 81 brief chapters or sections. It is a classic Chinese text traditionally credited to the 6th-century BCE sage Laozi.
